What is included
As part of our commitment to provide competitive, honest, fair and transparent pricing for your car hire we have summarised below all items included as part of your rental agreement, and those which are optional and payable on arrival.
All prices are inclusive of VAT/IVA at the prevailing rate (21% in June 2013); to comply with Spanish fiscal law your final invoice will show the tax as a separate amount but the total will be as shown here. If anything is still unclear please do contact us.
Fuel Policy Information

The hire car is provided with fuel and should be returned with the same level: SAME to SAME.
The fuel must be returned with the same quantity, otherwise a refuelling fee of €35 will be charged.
We offer two options:
This option is only available on the lower cost “Basic” packages booked through third party brokers. With the full-empty fuel policy you collect the car with a full tank of fuel and return empty. You pay Drivalia for the fuel on collection*.
Please note that the total fuel price includes an administration and refuelling fee which is 35€, therefore the total fuel tank cost may be slightly higher than at a petrol station (see* below) which is why the rental rates associated to this fuel policy are highly discounted.
With the full-full fuel policy you collect the car with a full tank of fuel and simply return it full. Drivalia make no charge for fuel – just pay for what you use at a petrol station. The full to full fuel policy is standard with our Ultimate package and all bookings made directly with Drivalia.
Drivalia makes no charge for fuel unless, for whatever reason, you don’t have the chance to refuel the vehicle before returning it. In this case, when you return the vehicle, you will simply be asked to pay for the fuel used at our current market price*, usually without any penalty or refuelling fee. A refuelling fee of 35 euros will be added to the cost of any missing fuel for clients on our Basic package who have chosen not to contract our SCDW cover.

Please check your rental confirmation for which fuel policy you have. If you have reserved through an intermediate company or a broker and your fuel policy is not what you want, we can sometimes change it for you at the reception desk. When changing from a “Full to Empty” to a “Full to Full” fuel policy an administration charge will apply. Depending on the rental duration and the chosen vehicle group, charges vary from 17 Euro to a maximum of 65 Euro.

* Depending on the fluctuation of fuel prices and including the above mentioned administration and refuelling fee, our fuel prices do not exceed 2,10 Euro per litre (21% VAT included). The total fuel price varies from 72 Euro to a maximum of 170 Euro, depending on the chosen vehicle group.
What does the standard insurance include
and how can I reduce my risk?

The standard rate includes comprehensive insurance with the following excess applying to both CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) and TP (Theft Protection). There are however other exclusions detailed below:

Damages to the interior of the vehicle are not covered by the standard cover, SCDW or Ultimate neither are damages or losses to personal posessions or special cleaning charges. *
Legal claims and charges will apply if driver’s negligence is proven.
** Theft is not covered if the keys are left in the vehicle or due care and attention is not taken.
*** Engine damage is not covered if negligence is proven or due care of the vehicle is not provided. (e.g. Running out of engine oil, ignoring warning lights, etc.) To see estimated costs in case of accident and towing service click here. You can cover a maximum of 2000 kilometres per rental. Price per additional kilometre: 0.45 €.
Please note that those who wish to assume the risk of the standard insurance exclusions or those who have purchased insurance elsewhere will be asked to leave a deposit of the amount of the excess with a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard) under the main driver’s name. Virtual cards, Wallet cards, Apple Pay and American Express are not accepted.
In cases of the main driver being under 25 years old we reserve the right to request a deposit held against a credit card regardless of whether the client contracts full SCDW cover, books the Ultimate package or chooses not to take full cover. By choosing SCDW or the Ultimate package the full level of cover is still provided but the deposit is for cases of damage caused by neglegence. Please contact us for further information.
